Education & Employment

We’re addressing the problem of a global skills gap by preparing young people to succeed in the jobs employers are seeking to fill.

A critical gap is the ability of young people to demonstrate the life and work readiness skills needed in the job market. Tune Up® life skills curriculum and vocational and technical training expertise have helped more 110,000 young men and women become the confident, reliable team players companies want to hire. With a demand-driven approach, we constantly refine how we meet partner and market needs.

As we support young people on the path to employment and economic independence, we're always working to ensure that this kind of positive change is sustainable after an initiative ends. We have a decades-long history of focusing on maximizing impact through partnerships and building partners' capacity to deliver youth-friendly employability services

Social Innovation

We invest in young leaders who are tackling some of the world’s most pressing issues.

Our flagship citizenship program, IYF®, strengthens and expands the impact of youth-led social ventures around the world. As a complement to our global fellowship, we support a network of national and regional institutes that are driving the development of youth leadership in these countries.

Every year, the Indian Youth Fellowship brings together 20 outstanding young change-makers whose projects are distinguished by their innovative approaches, successful track records, and sustainbility potential. The 2017 fellowsare leading initiatives tackling issues as diverse as child marriage and environmental protection.

In addition to empowering individual young social innovators through community, webinars, and training, IYF works to strengthen the social entrepreneurship sector globally.

IYFt's University Connect initiative is fostering innovation at the college level.

We empower young people to succeed in self-employment, because we know that the global market can’t keep pace with the vast numbers of young people entering every year.

As these entrepreneurs start new businesses, we’ve witnessed their power to create new jobs and help shape local economies. Our entrepreneurship initiatives give young men and women the foundational knowledge, training, and resources to start, lead, and grow small and micro enterprises.

Across the INDIA, Build Your Business offers engaging e-content and in-person training that are making fruitful small business ownership a reality for young people. In India, Maya and Sandeep are just two participants in Young Entrepreneurs who've found sucess in self-employment. In Lucknow, 700 youth who trained uder Youth Entrepreneurship Development have increased employability and entrepreneurship skills.

Thanks to our holistic approach and our belief that all youth need entrepreneurial skills to successfully navigate in today's world, many of our initiatives include a strong entrepreneurship component. For example, in Barabanki, young women YouthMap participants Kisa, Faria, and Gunjan, Karishma have started a successful agriculture-based small business with the knowledge and support gained from us.. Similarly, in the Mirpur, youth who learned life skills and volunteered in their communities also have gained financial independence as a result of the initiative's entrepreneurship training.
