A Brief Overview:

The Course and Career Counselling (CCC) is India’s one of the  largest and most popular scholastic aptitude test which has been written by over 2000 students from all over India. This test has been used effectively by the top schools of India since the past 4 years. The CCC is a cost effective test is scientifically developed, researched and offered as a student guidance service by the Indian Progressive Youth Forum (IPYF) and Indian Mental Health and Research Centre, pioneer in the field of psychometric and educational research in India. This test is specifically meant for the students of classes VI to XII of all CBSE and CISCE Schools as well as State Boards and is available in English as well as now in Hindi.

The CCC was developed to help parents and children jointly to select a course of study which will be most suitable for the child in attaining a successful and satisfactory educational career. The scores on these tests are intended to provide helpful information to students and their parents and teachers about the students' scholastic abilities, information which will help make better decisions about the student’s academic future.

The academic Aptitude test is designed to measure three important aspects of a student’s academic life:

  • His/her potential for academic work.
  •  His/her knowledge in different subject areas.
  •  His/her ability to use that knowledge.

The test is objective based with multiple choice answers. As the test is both diagnostic as well as holistic in nature, it is divided into 2 parts:

 (1) Progressive Aptitude Test: This is a two hour test. It is intended to indicate the level of development of Quantitative and Qualitative Ability, Reading Comprehension, Computer, General Studies, Logical Reasoning and a specially designed Psychometric test which are considered by educational scientists to be essential for success in the next higher level of education.

 (2) Interest Mapping Program: This is a separate test offered by IPYF as a value added facility in conjunction with the afore mentioned tests. This interest test is for the students of classes VII to XII, which aims to assess students’ interests in six areas which play a major role in career planning and decision making. These six aspects are Literary, Social, Numerical, Mechanical, Life sciences, and Art & musical. The test will help the teachers, counselors and parents to understand and interpret students’ interests and would help in giving a complete psychological profile needed for career guidance.
